Who is this qualification for?
The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a qualification designed to enable you to develop practical teaching skills for both Accredited Courses (CPD/ABT) OR Regulated Courses (VTCT, Focus Awards, City & Guilds or Ofqual Courses up to Level 4) – Level 5, 6 & 7 require a Level 5 DET
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.

What Will I Learn?
- How to deliver a subject you are already qualified in – for both Regulated courses and accredited courses
- How to assess learners for Regulated courses
- How to write a Scheme of Work
- How to write a Lesson Plan
- The framework of both accredited courses and regulated courses – for example; IQA’s, EQA’s and Ofqual courses
- Understanding different types of learners and how to ensure that all learners with all abilities are able to understand the subject you are delivering to them
Course Criteria:
- Unit UET1 – understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education & training
- Unit UET7 – Planning to meet the needs of learners in education & training
- Unit UET8 – Delivering education & training
- Unit UET9 – Assessing learners in education & training
- Unit UE10 – Using resources in education & training
- Unit UV30564 – Assess occupational competency in the work environment (assessors award)
- Unit UV30566 – Assess vocations skills, knowledge & understanding
- Unit UV40767 – Manage learning & development in groups
Duration:
- Registration with VTCT for the Level 4 Certificate in Education
- Enrolment process & then access to your online theory portal & assessor
- 2 x Zoom sessions with your assessor to discuss the theory (as discussed with your assessor directly)
- Online Assignments to Complete from Home
- 3 x Assessments (Microteach & Assessing combined)
Assessments:
There must be evidence of you monitoring a minimum of two assessors, each with a minimum of two learners of their own, through components of a qualification in your own workplace
Career Opportunities:
Self-Employment or Employment as a vocational IQA in the subjects you are qualified in.

Payments:
Choice of either:
- Payment in Full
- Deposit of £200 & 3 x Monthly Direct Debit Payments of: £238 OR 6 x Monthly Direct Debit payments of £125
Additional Costs:
You will need to purchase your own equipment (e.g. laptop to type up your assignment questions) and we also recommend you purchase a text book to support your learning, a recommended reading list is supplied with your training pack.
