The primary outcome of the VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management is to prepare you to enter the hair and beauty sector as a salon manager.
Overview
The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management is a vocationally related qualification that will prepare you to gain employment as a salon manager, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry on to this qualification can be via previous attainment of a hair or beauty qualification at level 3 (or Anatomy & Physiology Level 3)
This is a vocationally related qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a salon manager. This qualification will allow you to develop both management and technical skills required for the role of hair and beauty salon manager. There are five mandatory units in this qualification, including: management of health, safety and security in the salon, quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector, sales management in the hair and beauty sector, public relations in the hair and beauty sector and salon management.

- Sales Management in the Hair & Beauty Industry
- PR (Public Relations) in the Hair & Beauty Industry
- Micropigmentation (Semi-Permanent Make Up – Eyebrows, Eyeliner & Lips)

What is Government Funding?
It is a scheme run by the Government to allow people to develop or change their careers. You can have up to 4 funded courses in your lifetime to do so.
Level 2 – Government Grant (non-repayable) and requirements are to be met. (This does not come into your 4 credits)
Level 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 – Advanced Learner Loans – Anyone is entitled to this, no credit checks is required. Amount is repaid from your tax once you are earning above £27,000 per year. You can still use this service, even if you have used 1-3 of your 4 credits elsewhere.
For Example “if your salary was £27,725, then your repayment would be £180 per year from your tax or £15 per month” – this information was taken from the Advanced Learner Loan FAQ’s
